Daily Darwins

This post is the opening of my new venture since this blog is kind of mrehhh... I'm starting to reform this blog into posts about the everyday people I see that should be awarded for lucking out from not dying due to natural selection thus far, the Daily Darwins. If you don't know about the Darwin Awards you should look into it. Some people that are awarded for making the gene pool better by causing their own deaths.

Let's start off with a couple things..

  • The names and identities of people I encounter that I write about will not be disclosed for legal reasons.
  • I am not claiming that these people will die from stupidity, but the chance may be higher than normal. (lol)

Now let's begin with the fun stuff! Today a gentleman calls me to inquire about the advertisement we have going on television. He says he is calling on behalf of a friend, and continues to go on about how he is close to this woman as my other phone lines ring. I ask for his name so I can transfer the call to someone who can give him more information. He refuses to give me his name and instead gives me the name of the woman he is calling on behalf of. I try to explain once again that our staff likes to be personable and a name would help us do that better. Finally, a first name is given to me! I transfer the call and sigh.

An hour later I hear the same older man on the line. He refuses to give me his name again. Is this deja vu?
The man calls a last time and I refer to him by his name, seeming shocked he asks me how I knew his name. I said, "Because you have such a distinctive, lovely voice."
